does anyone know what is causing this? and what to do about it?

Did you have as much rain as we did? Almost constant since May? Cottonwoods like lots of moisture, but not constant. A lot of our trees are losing leaves early due to this. I have a cypress (which loves wet) whose needles are almost all brown now.
What can you do? Really nothing. Just wait and see.

no... not much rain, granted more than usual, but nothing like houston.. I live in the dry desert... I have another cottonwood about 15' from this one, and its fine,, thats why I confused about it... anyways, thank you for your response ;0) guess im gonna have to cut a branch and take it to the local nursery...
