My poor tree has had some issues with oozing this year and is not looking so good on one side of the tree foliage. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/708793/
The two previously oozing places cleared up after I doctored it with orange oil, hydrogen peroxide and Tree Trunk Goop. This week two new oozing spots appeared. I cleaned them off yesterday with orange oil and hydrogen peroxide using a foam paint brush. I think I might have wiped off some blob of white stuff that wasn't just the ooze.
Today I found some sort of larvae but managed to kill quite a few by flushing them out with the orange oil. Just by pouring some on the spot it would send them crawling out to die.
I'm not sure if they are causing the oozing or if they are just taking advantage of the oozing. Help??
Tree borer?
