Hoya Rope?

Lafayette, LA

Is it possible to propagate a Hoya Rope plant from a cutting?

Thanks.

I have a large hanging basket of the hoya. I will cut off the long strands, strip off the lower leaves and stick in a jar of water. Most of the time is will root if you keep the water clean. Then I share. I have enclosed a picture of the beautiful bloom.

I just start these in regular potting soil. I put 2 or 3 in each pot.

Varnon,

I didn't know that these Hindu ropes could flower. My mom has one that's about 10 years old or so, and has never set flowers.
It gets great light, as is doing very well, foliage-wise.
Is there some secret to getting this particular culivar to flower?

I had one for 9 years before it flowered. I didn't know what was going on. I hardly ever watered it or even paid any attention to it. i gave it to my friend. At the time I wasn't into plants. She gave me a different one 4 years ago. It's huge, but no flowers. I put one of those watering balls down in it, so the roots get water. It seems like it's all roots, I can't even hang it up. The watering ball has really helped it grow. Now I have a small varigated one as well. Mine only gets a little morning light in my living room.
