Nice pic Celeste!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like spiders. There used to be a guy at DG who posted on Photos a lot. His name was Rich Swanner. He took the most incredible bug shots you'll ever see. It's worth a search. Don't know how hard it is when someone is no longer a member.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

This guy seemed to pick a flower that went well with his attire.

Ngam - what a wonderful pic.........really cool!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Ditto here too. Great camo for that wasp!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well I would like to take credit for composing it, but truth be told I did not see the bee until I was downloading the pics. A happy accident is sometimes the best pic. :)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

That is a nice shot ngam!

I have the standard one I take.

Al, you get the most sensational bee photos!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tell me when I can look again Al!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks venu - I get about one good one for every 10 I take.

Victor - You can look again - another one of my wife's zoo pics.

Thanks for the heads-up. Didn't know your wife had a zoo. What a guy you are!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

your wife takes good shots too! Canis Lupis??

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Nice fox pic, Al. That guy keeps crossing our path on our dirt road....beautiful coloring!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Zoo's at our house I think.

That is a wolf at the Oshkosh zoo.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

That one crosses my path on the way to work! They can run really fast, too!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Al - I looked at the zoo pic again.....can see it is a wolf face, not a fox. The tail threw me. There's a big debate going on here where we live as to whether we are all seeing a wolf. He has come to our meadow twice, and he looks very different from a coyote. Some believe there are no wolves here........maybe.....we aren't sure, but others think it is a wolf. We have some big, beautiful red foxes....very healthy looking this year. We keep Molly on a leash during the dawn and dusk hours when she goes up in the meadow. There is so much wildlife here. Our group of turkey babies and the 2 moms were back yesterday. Our teenage deer, Knobby and Sissy, were also here at dusk yesterday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does he huff and puff??

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Knobby and Sissy you say. There are Timber Wolves in the northern part of this state and some coyotes

I got a few new bugs pics - a damsel fly. I saw this guy going after some small bugs so they must eat them - yay!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Not positive about this one, sort of like a katydid or cricket?

Thumbnail by bigcityal
Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Can there be a male damsel?? I don't think the second one is a cricket. Nice shots, Al.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Al - what we called katydids in Fla. when I was a child were a yellow color......I'm not sure we called those horrors the right thing, so I may not be correct here, but I have traumatic recall of having those things leap onto me whenever I tried to go outside from our front porch. Eeeeuuuu!
This looks silverish........not sure what it is.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I'll post it in bug ID.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Would you mind keeping him in Menasha? I'm not wanting to be imprisoned inside again by those leapin' nightmares that vault right onto you without notice. :(

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Dang Louise - you're not in the address exchange!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Andy's a bad boy for not keeping up with this........

Looks like my bug is a tree cricket, probably the jumping poisonous kind with fangs Donnie.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

OMG, Al.......you are giving me nightmares tonight!! Gross!!! tree crickets, you say....... If they and their cousins, the infamous katydids, would just stay still and stop leaping onto unsuspecting victims, that would be just fine. I admire most of the insects - from a distance - but I don't like surprises like they can deliver. LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They make great hors d'oeuvre.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Barf!!!
