I gotta hand it to you guys. I can't stand politics, my reaction is anger and hopelesness. Oh, and prayer. I gotta stay away from it. Thanks 'good guys' for staying involved!
Daily Musings - page 18
You got that right, Michaela!
Don't want to stray into politics at all, but I will only say that the process is flawed so badly that good people, for the most part, are shut out.
Although we cannot be actively involved in Canadian politics, we still vote in elections :-)
What's the usual turnout rate in Canada?
Well, it has dwindled in recent years, but its about 60 percent or so for federal elections. I think the last election got about 72 percent.
We have higher participation in American Idol than American Government.
I can do the primal scream thing. Paper wasps were the only ones I was not very allergic to in my recent blood test. At least from the ones they checked for.
Send a SASE and I'll get this nest right off to you! The "foggy" look to the photo was fog....we snapped this yesterday on our morning walk just before the fog had lifted on the pond.
Thanks - I'll pass!
They ain't bugs!!!

No bugs, took a poor batch of photos tonight. Had some double winged skippers too ;(
Been so miserable here - haven't taken photos for days.
(please don't censor this) this u. s. of A. has been SO depressing recently. I'm not talking politics, but who would want to join a country without a Bill of Rights? Where the CEO is regularly dissed? Michaela, are you SURE you want to join?
xx, Carrie
Corporations can fire their CEOs and privately held companies can be bankrupted when their product is not embraced by the public.
Good news is we have an escape clause every four years, bad news sometimes we don't opt out. :(
Good to see we're NOT talking politics.
Mea culpa.
Mea too.
Living in a country where the CEO can be dissed without fear of inprisonment, dismemberment or death is a good thing. Living in a country where almost every zone is included for growing all types of plants is pretty amazing too!
And having great friends at DG - priceless!
OK, OK. A rotten country, at the moment, but still better than all the others. I agree, Venu, most people who disagree with the management are not executed, and we are free not to talk politics on DG.
I think the key thing to remember is - when there was a dispute in 2000 as to who was the real elected leader of this country, there was no fear that each party would bring out their armies and militia and tear the country apart. As long as peaceful transfer of power remains, other problems can be solved. It takes good people to step up to the plate - by running for office, actively participating in parties, and by voting.
If you don't like what you have - don't vote for incumbents. :-)
Try it for 30 or 40 years, Michaela.... Isn't there a nickname we can use? Michaela is so long to type.
x, C
Well, there is always Seandor . . . .
If anyone has voted for 30 or 40 years and doesn't approve of anyone ever elected then I see a serious problem with the voter, not the elected.
We must remember AUP!
What's AUP? Inquiring Minds want to know . . .
Acceptable Use Policy: see the bottom of the page for more information.
Ah - of course! Thanks pirl. :-) I agree - we have to be careful not to offend anyone.
By the way Sean, I'll have some roses large enough to take cuttings from this fall if you want to propagate. I think I remember from another thread earlier this year that you'd like some cuttings. Give me a holler via d-mail and let me know.
.......but some don't mind being offensive to others it seems.
Thanks for saying that pirl. Can we get back to daily musings?
Al, your mushrooms look like plaster.
Very cool Celeste. The photo that is, not the morning.
Thanks Victor, I knew what you meant.
Where was the little bugger??
The spider....don't know which is why I took the photo and then skee-dattled!
