Rusty Blackhaw Viburnum

Pasadena, TX(Zone 9b)

Hello all,

I was wondering if you could help me find a place where I could buy this small tree. I googled around and can't seem to find it. Moreover, if you have some tips and suggestions concerning transplanting it or planting from a seed, I'd certainly appreciate it. I live in Pasadena, Texas and as far as I could understand, september and october are the most indicated months to plant all kinds of things. So, I am trying to do this right.

Thanks

Plant Scout lists one place that carries it, no guarantee they have it in stock but it's worth checking out:

I would bet a place like ForestFarm would have this plant as well. I know for certain that Classic Viburnums sells rusty blackhaw viburnum, and they are much closer to your part of the world.

I think you can reach them here: sueclassicviburnums@rcom-ne.com

You may not get out of there with only one...but you can never have too many viburnums.

Thanks for the responses. I will check this upcoming weekend a nursery a little bit far from my home, but still in Houston. If I cannot get from them I'll probably buy it over the web.

I just purchased a Rusty Blackhaw in The Woodlands, TX at Pineywoods Nursery for $6.00 (1 gal. but he has other sizes). Here's Jason's web site:

Jason's normally there on Sat. (also Tues & Thurs. I belive) but you might want to call. He has lots of other hard to find native trees and plants and can often get them if he doesn't have them.
