A neighbor left her most prized plant on my doorstep and I don't have a clue what it is or how to care for it! Online searches have been unsuccessful. It's potted, thrives in shade, about 18-24 " tall, lots of small purple flowers sort of orchid-like, and, most distinct leaves that are green on top and purple underneath. Will post a photo if necessary.
Help - need plant ID
A picture is a must if you can. It's the best way to get a positive ID.
Marsha.
I'm going to guess some sort of Tradescantia, no way to tell which one without a picture though. http://davesgarden.com/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=tradescantia&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
It's a Plectranthus, possibly 'Mona Lavender'
