Hello all!
Does anyone know what this is? I got it at Lowe's half dead! LOL It has not growen much, but does put off new leaves!
I know it is probably in a pot that is to big, but that is all that I had at the time.
Can it be planted with other plants in the same pot? Being that it sets in my bathroom, it get moisture and lots of light!
Thanks for the help!
What is this?
It is one of these, Kaempferia, http://davesgarden.com/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=Kaempferia&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
HUMM well there is one at the bottum that looks kind of the same, but mine has NEVER put of flowers.
And the back of the leaves are purple. If you can see the new leaf growing in the right of the pic.
It might be Calathea, they look the same to me as Kaempferia.

It is an Calathea Ornata!! WOO WOO
i can never grow Calatheas as they they like it to be cooler than most houseplants.............
Well I have neve been sure what it is! But when I moved to this house I just put it in the bathroom and it seems to like it there! I was worried about the light, but it is bright in there and stays cool so... I guess we will see!
I would like to add some other things into the pot with it, but I am not sure that is a good idea! I also don't have a clue what to add! LOL
