EGADS girl!!! are you starting a plumeria nursery>???? my favorite was 'Salmon Pink' from Thailand but then I saw Tahitian snset and strawberry loops/.....I am now totally confused.
I think that plumerias grow well in my climate, I have seen a couple.
Plumie Pictures of Mine
Clare, All incredibly lovely. Beautiful Adenium.
Jackie
LOL, Pebble! Thanks! It is hard to pick a favorite for sure. I love them all.
Thanks, Jackie. I love that adenium too. I had one called 'Harry Potter' that was neat too, but I accidentally killed it. I left my adeniums outside all winter on my semi-covered patio, and some objected by rotting while others came through fine.
Here is 'Salmon Pink' again. I have some new ones blooming soon and will post pics soon. My 'Teresa Wilder' from FlyboyFL is blooming, and it is one of my favorites -- thanks to Brad for this one.

Clare, STOP IT, you've got me wanting to hit the nurseries now for more! No, don't stop it!
I need to read the sticky and find out what you all fertilize with. It is so hot and the plumies are just loving it. There getting lots of water and that's good.
I got a Teresa Wilder from Brad too, it hasn't bloomed yet. I have another getting ready to open up but forgot the name.
LOL, Louise. I just read that a heat wave is coming in for us! Yay!
I just gave mine a shot with MiracleGro yesterday. I have that handy attachment thingy that you put the liquid bottle of fertilizer into. I had some left over dried chicken manure pellets that I scattered everywhere too a while ago and will do it again soon.
Did I send you the TW and others from Brad? His other one is one I've been calling 'Brad's White' or 'Flyboy White.' One of mine bloomed, but it had teeny tiny flowers. I think that was because of the weird weather we have been having and was a first bloom on a newly rooted plant, which can have small flowers anyway. I have a 'Brad's White' from the year before that he sent me, and that is a much bigger plant and will bloom soon also. I'll post pics of it when it does.
My plumerias from the coop are doing well with new leaves on all of them. When should I fertilize them and should I use the miracle gro in the bottle or put some Osmocote on them? They are on the from porch and get the wet sun in the afternoon and lots of light during the day.
Brad sent me the TW, you sent me one of his white.
I'll give mine a shot of MG too then.
Oh yes, it is very hot here.
Clare, these are gorgeous pictures!!!! I sucked in way too much air gasping at all of these, LoL! TFS!
Louise, it is really hot here too! That is why I am inside.
Thanks, Kim. You are so funny!
Kamikid, you may want to start a new thread with your questions as this thread is mainly for my pictures and has gotten so long that many people may not be checking it any longer. Also, there is a great section on fertilizer in the FAQ's sticky thread if you want to check that out.
Clare... I've copied your post --
" Here is another yellow/white that I love. It is a great bloomer and blooms every year reliably."
Would this happen to be one of Barry Ng's?? If so, do you happen to know the name?
Teresa, no, it is a no-name that I bought from Aloha Palms a few years ago, but I believe it is a seedling of Celadine, and Celadine matches that description perfectly. Celadine is one that everyone should have in their collection for its fragrance and reliability in blooming.
Always lovely... I can't get over the blooms on that 'Salmon Pink'!
Karen
I bet your yard smells heavenly!!!! Do you skip through your garden everynight? :) I get excited over just the one that we have blooming. I've gotta show all of your pics to my hubby. Keep them coming!!
Thanks, Karen and Kim!
Kim, for the last couple of nights, I've had some Epiphyllum oxypetalum flowers blooming, and they do scent the night air. The Brugmansia and Bouvardia are strong too at night. The plumeria don't really smell stronger at night but seem to smell stronger in the heat of the day. I'm usually so exhausted that I miss all the night flowers! LOL!
I had to go and look that first one up..what a beautiful succulent!! I'm in Tx so it's the heat of the day pretty much 24/7 :)
Thank you Clare will check out the sticky.
WOW Clare! So impressive. I'm just happy to have a few little basic guys that you've guided me with.
Barbara
wow Claire, those new additions are very nice too.....
Are they easy to find there? I am going o the states for 6 months, i wonder if i could find one in Oregon/Washington that i can get to take back to turkey in march. are they asy to transport>? they withstand travel?
I really like the ones that have some color to them, the pinks, salmons etc. but thoe whitish ones ar nice too.......
Kamikid, if you want to start a new thread, I'll gladly chime in with some more fertilizer advice. I just would rather not do it on this thread.
Thanks, Barbara and Pebble.
Pebble, plumerias are not so easy to find as they are considered a tropical tree so the subtropical areas of the United States have nurseries that have them, but they mostly aren't carried in areas which aren't Zone 10. However, Florida Colors Nursery does ship worldwide, I believe, and they do travel just fine. Grafts travel better than cuttings so you may want to order grafted plants. If you know the address and time that you will be in Oregon/Washington, you could have them sent to you there right before you go back to Turkey and carry them with you in your luggage if your Customs will allow that. You might want to check with your Customs first to see what their restrictions are. Here is the link to Florida Colors in case you want to check with them about shipping: http://www.floridacolors.com/
Clare - what variety do you think my plummies are in the SE Tennessee thread below? They are all the same - wish I had gotten 3 different varieties, but I just bought 3 sticks at the Atlanta Flower Show 4 years ago, LOL....
Jimmy, it is hard to determine if yours is a named/registered cultivar or not. It is a pretty one though. It doesn't look like a named variety that I recognize. It has some distinctive marks on the flowers though that are similar to a couple of different varieties. Most named ones come from specialty nurseries like Florida Colors Nursery. I'm not sure what plumeria business is selling at the Atlanta Flower Show, but I know several people who have bought plumerias from there. It is probably an unnamed hybrid as those can be sold for less than the named hybrids. It is lovely though.
That is a beautiful flower, Louise! Congrats!
Clare awesome pictures we know what you do with your spare time,. Very nice thats proably the tip of the ice burg lol. How many years have you been collecting these?Sure has paid off for you Hurricane time here I am proably going to down size here to many to keep up with. I worry about the day after day of heavy rain. Whats it going to do to them last year it wasn't bad. But this year could be a different story.
Hi Dana, I am downsizing too all the time. I've been collecting plumerias for about six years now and growing things and gardening in general for around ten years. Your day after day of heavy rain shouldn't affect your plumies as long as they are not sitting in puddles of water and drainage is good. I even had some submerged in my Koi pond for a day or two without any problem.
Hey Clare~
Glad my DDW wasn't looking over my shoulder as I received your expression.
TW looks gorgeous. Wish I could photograph mine. I am still a captive of the frozen tundra, up here, tending to my tomatoes.
Be well
: )
LOL, Brad! I'm glad you received them and didn't get in trouble from DDW;-)
I hope your tomato production is better than mine. This year, they seem to be ripening so slowly. It may be the weird weather we are having.
'TW' is so gorgeous and is one of my favorites and is extra special to me because it came from you, my friend. I hope your 'TW' and 'Brad's White' are still blooming for you when you see them next. I have a tall 'Brad's White' that should bloom soon, and I will post pics when it does.
Be well also and enjoy your summer...
Clare~
So great to hear from you.
My tomatoes are doing well. You know -- New Jersey Tomatoes.
Watch out for that "Brad's White." I warned you. It's prolific.
Be well
Brad
I got a TW from Brad too and can't wait to see it bloom. MWAH Brad...and of course Clare too!
Good luck, weegy~
And, Clare: wanna see my tomatoes: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/753935/
Brad
MWAH back, Louise!
Brad, it is great to hear from you too! What a beautiful tomato patch and herb garden you've got going there. Thanks for the link;-) Do you like pico de gallo salsa? You just need to add some cilantro and onions to your garden. You chop up the tomatoes, add the onion and cilantro, salt, pepper, vinegar, and lemon or lime juice. Serve with chips or on anything. Yummy!
