Plumie Pictures of Mine

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

It has been a while since I posted pictures so I thought I would post a few today since I have some time. The other thread is probably getting too long for those on dial up. Here are some that are blooming in my garden.

This is sold by Barry in Singapore as "Orange Pink," but it is really an orange red and is one of my favorites.

Flower MTL, thanks! Plumerias seeds do not come true to the parent, but if you sow seeds of a yellow-white, you will most likely get another yellow-white, and you will have to wait years and years for it to flower from seed. There are so many yellow-whites in circulation that you are better off getting a cutting of one that has proven itself to be appealing. I do not find the traits of 'Henry Apples Dupree' to be very appealing compared to others out there. If you really want to sow seeds and have the time and patience to wait for your seedling to flower, then I would start with the seeds of a known cultivar that has the traits that you like -- i.e., big flower, good fragrance, bright colors, but even then, you could still get a yellow-white. Due to the number of genes, you could get anything, and you will wait years and years for your first flower. Seedlings take a lot of time and patience!

Thanks, Dete! You are so funny!

Years! Yikes! I want flowers now :). Seriously, my babies are two years old. How much longer before I see some flowers?

Thanks Clare!
