My garden is partially shaded, yet I would like to grow eggplants next spring, just planning ahead, but what what would be a good eggplant that will survive and yield a lots of eggplants in partial shade? According to the plant files, lao lavender can grow in partial shade, but is there anything else (except non-edibles)?
Eggplant
I'm in florida and I use partial shade all the time for growing eggplant. But it gets really hot here very early on.12 little slim jim plants have given my way more eggplant than I can use alone. 8 were planted first. 4 later on in a different (I believe a sunnier) area of my yard. The first 8 are still producing. 3 of the others have gone by the way of the compost bin. I planted the first 8 on 2/14.
You'll have to judge by your area conditions, but I say try a few anyway.
