think about waking up. lol

Thanks Beth, I hope I get a lot of seeds too!

Blooms from today.
I don't know the name for this one. It was sold to me as Fuji no Monet...but doesn't even look like a Fuji.

Oh that one is nice!!

Ronnie, I liked every one of the ones you posted yesterday, Kohkan looks so much nicer on a real trellis than a tomato cage as I am growing it.

Beth, what is the name of the one you just posted, that white eye is mesmerizing.

Joseph

i agree with joseph the kohkan is stunning..it is one of my favorites although i did not grow these this year

Congrats.

I removed ths message because it wasn`t worded in away that stated the true meaning and gist of what I wanted to get across affectively.

Ron has been very generous with his seeds! He has sent many, many to me and to others to grow out for him. We are keeping track of their progress for him.

I never realized how tacky my mailbox looks until I saw this photo. Time for a new one!

Beth,

Those sunflowers and morning glories are looking real nice. Your mailbox has been faithful. It looks rustic and nothing wrong with that. :)

About the seeds: You are growing them for Ron and will send him the seeds back But you cannot trade them with anyone else but Ron? Did I read that correctly?

I also saw another post where it was said not to ask for seeds. Ron is always asking for seeds...but the folks growing Ron`s seeds can`t offer them?

I only want information. Please don`t get offended at me. I just need to check and see if I`m understanding what I`m reading that`s all. I`m brave enough and trust ya`ll(Ron included) enough to be able to ask questions.

I have no idea if I am forbidden from trading seeds from his plants. I don't have any seeds yet, LOL! I would certainly send any I got back to him first. I have sent a few types to Ron, but nothing in comparison to what he sent me. I should let him speak for himself, but I think he said that due to a fire and where he is living right now, he doesn't have a lot of space to grow them. I think his interest is more scientific, classifying and determining the characteristics of these plants. I know he has no interest in making money off of his seeds, which is pretty much my position too. That's why I sent my small stock of Gypsy Bride to people all over the US. I want to see that type grown more, and seeds more readily available to all. I have offered free seeds to anyone that asked on Davesgarden, and the majority of people I never hear from again. I think Dave is being careful to send them to those of us that will carefully photograph and log the characteristics of the varieties.

Beth, Thanks for the post. Trust me, this is a love/hobby thing. There is no big money in morning glory seeds. I sell but I honestly will tell you it is not very profitable. I probably have not made one dollar an hour so far for the work I put into this hobby but I love gardening and will continue.

I`m referring to what Gourd mentioned. "You want to trade??? lol. I can't trade Ron's seeds, but I can trade mine.."post # 3799357

Forgive me if I`m misunderstanding something or if it isn`t any of my business. I`m only curious.

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

I guess Ron will have to straighten us out on this one. I just found out some of the Evolvulus seeds he sent me might take up to 3 years to germinate. That's what I call a long term investment!

Mesilla Park, NM

Ron asked that I check with him before they are traded if they are traded. Since it appears that the plants may not produce awhole lot of seeds their first year, I feel that I cannot trade any of his seeds because I too feel that they should go to him.. But, I will, however trade everything else that I have grown that I don't post as Ron's Seed. I think he will send the seeds out to others according to their locations, etc. etc. etc..

I sent Ron some seeds also, but nothing in comparison to what he sent me.. I am sorry I caused such a rukus..

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

I don`t see any ruckus at all. That is plenty good enough of a answer. You answered my question completely and my question didn`t have to have an answer but I`m glad it did. Thanks ... now back to more flowers. :)

Hey guys,

I personally think that the discussion of Ron's seeds should be done privately and NOT on this forum. Don't be surprised if Ron does not reply.

Emma

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Emma and Ron, I`m sorry. I did not know this was such a sensitive subject. My apologies.

Mesilla Park, NM

I'm with you there Karen.

Karen - "Ron, How come you want to keep all the seeds to yourself and not make them available for others to enjoy?

What is gained by keeping them hid(sic) and keeping them rare if they are such great plants?"

Thanks for all the levity Karen...I got a good chuckle out of that one...

Keep up the Good Work...(!)

TTY,...

Ron

P.S. - God Bless(!)...

Beth, your mailbox has real character! Can't you just paint it with black enamel?

Joseph

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Ron,

Thanks for having a sense of humor and being positive. I was not trying to shoot you down but heck... I was curious. I reread some of it and I see how it could be taken wrong if you didn`t know me very well. If you did take it wrong then it wasn`t intended as any kind of attack whatsoever. Please do forgive me.

Karen

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

So, maybe I did have a little gripe. But I think it was justifiable. I just got your Dmail Ron...it is obvious now that you are very angry at me. So is Emma, it seems my apology is not enough.

But life goes on. Karen

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Karen Get a life and take up your PERSONAL comments PERSONALLY and not on these Threads and show a little class . . .

Emma

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Emma, I have class. Maybe not taking things I write in such an offensive way would help a lot. Karen

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Karen you are in a dreamworld.
You need to go back to grade school.

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Emma, We could go on for days like this. I have better things to do. I`m going to show some class like you advised me to and ignore you.
