Cabbages, other uses.

london England, United Kingdom

Hi , I used a cabbage as a container for my flowers.

I do grow veg on my allotment, but it's not doing that well with all the rain we have had lately.

Well Donna, I have one of those containers made from china, it belonged to my dear late mum, but believe me, it ain't as lovely as yours, someone said, "until man can create a blade of grass as well as nature, then dont even try to copy nature" well I think your lovely flower arrangement is a point in question, now you have given me ideas for Christmas decorations and candle holders that I can place some foliage into also, OH, you have tickled my brain cells. thank you so much, Best wishes. *laugh* I have one too, from my first New Jersey garden, this past summer.

They're carrots. Don't ask me why they split into two roots each - a lot of them did that. And as to the shape, I can only say NATURE DID IT, not me! LOL

We couldn't even pry them apart without breaking them. I took pictures first because it was just too funny.

Hi Sev, thanks for the laugh with your carrot!!!
I haven't grown veg before this year, and it was funny when I dug them up and saw so many weird shapes!!

Yeah, I agree. And on the same note, it's amazing how much _variety_ there is, when you grow it yourself.

Purple potatoes and carrots, pink and green tomatoes, purple broccoli and black cauliflower, red beans, jeez.

It's hard to decide what to plant first! I have a whole bunch of varieties, but I don't want them cross-pollinating, so I'm having to think hard about what I want to plant THIS year.

Not that that's a bad thing... in fact, it makes me giggly just thinking about it. :)
