Does ultrasonic pest deterrant work?

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I wonder though.. I've seen a ultrasonic sound device that's suppose deterr deers and other small critters.. Electronic Yard Fence. Saw it in Skymall... Can anyone tell me if that works? Cuz not only do I have deers chomping on my meager landscape but I found out one of my neighbors down the hill has been taking their dog to pee on our lawn.. (apparantly dog pee does not deterr deers..) So I'd like something that works with all of these animals. Does anyone know if that Electronic Yard Fence works??

this is a website for a deer repellent that has really worked for me it is a motion detector with a light and radio. Nothing I have tried has worked as well there has not been a deer in my garden since I put it up. I bought mine on ebay for about half the price.

Ted.. How long have you had that one?? And did you buy it from First Street on eBay? Or is First Street a store on eBay?

I purchased it on ebay. that was just a web site I found that had the same that I had bought.I have had it for about 3 months it used d cell batteries that are still working. I have a 5' fence wit electric on top and a motion dector sprinkler called skarecrow but nothing has worked as well as this light radio thing the neighbor even claims it has kept the deer down in his yard as well. plus i dont keep accidentally shocking myself or getting sprayed by the sprinkler.

yeah... don't think I can do the electric fence here.. I live in a suburb in rural area.. Kinda weird I guess, suburb sandwiched between forest and farmland. Needless to say, there's a lot of kids running around in the afternoon and wildlife, like deers and even a moose on the off hours. Yes, moose in the morning, kids in the afternoon, and deers at night.. Think the neighbors would be a bit upset about me putting up an electrical fence... I will look for your light/FM deterrant too.

I hope it works as well foryou as it has for me I actually enjoy watching my deer again. after two years of cursing them shooting them with bb guns and anoying my neighbors with firecrackers.Of course I still had to learn how to landscape with all deer resistant plant species couldnt afford to surround the whole place with motion detector light radios. It must be fabulous to get to see moose though its just kids and deer here.

It was kinda wierd.. it was just kinda grazing.. My husband was trying to get me way cuz he said moose are dangerous cuz the charge at ya when they feel threatened..

thats probably very good advise I have had a few friends get pretty tore up by deer1 of them pretty severly ,broken leg and ribs and moose are much bigger.

Huh... Never thought bambi could hurt anything that wasn't green..

The bucks can really get riled up during mating season they sometimes look at us people as competetion and try to get us out of their territory. I have never heard of one attacking a woman maybe they can tell the difference. But every case of someone getting attacked i have known of was either a pet deer someone had raised or one that had been fed and was really comfortable hanging out around someones yard.

Interesting.. will definitely be viewing bambi differently now.. :)

Dude... That's harsh.. That guy got majorly trashed by that male deer. Maybe he was threatening the deer with his staff that he was running around with??
