hiya moretz,
They are a gesneriad, a cousin to the African violet.
They take about the same care except, they like more of everything like light, water, heat and they love humidity.
They say they make great hanging basket plants for outdoor patios but I grow mine on the plant shelves with my AV's.

You could join us on the AV forum & get other's opinions too.
