about this fine site.

Another Floridian here - just outside of Jacksonville - also north of Mzmunchken's garden :-)

Elyria, OH

Elyria OH, soon to be Grafton, not too far from MichelleN, close to the shores of the big lake ! Great place to grow grapes, the lake really keeps the frost away in the fall :-)

the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota - Rapid City, that is :)

Brandon, FL(Zone 9a)

Erin and Tim are from Brandon, Florida.

New Paris, OH

Beautiful Preble County Ohio which is a part of the Miami Valley just a stone's throw from the Hoosier State (actually 6 miles so's you'd have to have a really good arm). I live between the small town of New paris (named for Paris, KY) and the even smaller village of Eldorado (pronounced "El-Door-Ray-Doh", and if you don't say it that way they know yer a ferigner).
Originally I am from Oxford Ohio, home of Miami University (my alma mater), which is 29 miles south of me as the crow flies.

West Simsbury, CT(Zone 5a)

Wow, I just love all the little comments you've made. I feel like I've just been on a trip! Very interesting, thanks for all your posts.

It's really fun to read a little bit about where each of you live.

Thanks again!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Good ole Merryland - that's Hagerstown, Maryland - up in the mountains about 5 mins from PA to the north and WV to the south - we're in the country here, but just a short distance to town!

Venice, FL(Zone 9a)

Mid Florida, on the west coast (Gulf side); specifically: Venice, Florida... south of Tampa.... where growing season is in Winter also and bell peppers are perenials.

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Northwest suburb of Chicago, Mt Prospect, Ill. Grazdpa Jack - GO, CATS, GO!!!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I am from the mtns. of North Carolina. I am near the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is zone 6a which seems odd for the south, but we are higher in altitude than the surrounding countryside. This is Transylvania County, "Land of the Waterfalls."

Menahga, MN(Zone 3b)

Upper central Minnesota here, so we have short seasons. July and early August were very hot and dry, so gardening has become a real chore.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

South La-weeez-zeee-anna(Louisiana) here! In a little town called "Bayou Blue". We don't have a post office, so I have to claim Thibodaux as my town. I am in ankle deep mud, lots of mosquitos and fire ants. The politics seem to be as crooked as the Mississippi River that flows through this wonderful(?) state. But hey, we have great food!! And I am also from the state of confusion, along with AJC,Sharon, and KHT!

West Simsbury, CT(Zone 5a)

LOL... interesting insights! Perennial peppers, state of confusion, skeeters. I just love this!

Biloxi, Mississippi

West Branch, IA(Zone 5a)

Hi !! I'm from Iowa,Iowa Ciy area.When I'm not gardening, I'm shopping for new plants,reading about gardenening,etc.Even though I've been
gardening in the same spot for many years, every year it's different & I never get it finished. In winter, I like quilting.

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

Southern Ontario Canada city name St. Thomas

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

No need to guess where I'm from - the south central Gulf coast, just west of Tampa. I live about 6 miles (as the crow flies) from where I was born. That is now 23 red lights away. Lived in NC just north of Asheville, lived in TX 35 miles outta Dallas.
But I love it here and here I'll stay...still thinking of NC on these hot summer days.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Nerk Ahia, Or to those not from here Newark Ohio. I was born in raised in Columbus OH. Would not leave ohio for anything we seem to have it all.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Nerk Ahia...How funny...LMAO

West Simsbury, CT(Zone 5a)

Nerk Ahia!! ROFL! I haven't spent much time in Ohio but everyone seems to really love it once they move there. Floridian, you've moved about a bit, it's nice to find a place to call home that you're happy with.

My best friend, Gail Becker Coolidge was born in Biloxi.

Lots of Canadians here, that's a good thing.

And a quilter! I love to quilt too but haven't done much of it lately, I haven't been inspired. The cooler weather lends itself to those types of projects.

Iola, WI

The 4th Cheesehead to check in on this thread. Iola is pretty much 'smack dab' in the center of the state and the Packers are playing on Monday Night Football as I "speak"!

I'm pretty new to houseplants and have learned soooo much from the caring & sharing folks at Dave's Garden! Thank You!! I used to to have a VERY brown thumb, I could even kill a cactus!

I'm now the proud owner of 14 various species of plants, all doing quite nicely except for the poor Scheff that's losing leaves like crazy!

Dave's Garden Rocks!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm in Nerk, too, since I'm Gardenhubby's Gardenwife. Oh, go on now...I see your eyes rolling back into your heads!! ;-) We're best buddies, my hubby and I.

It's neat hearing the tidbits about everyones' states. Here's my tidbit: Ohio's The Birthplace of Aviation -- even says so on our license plates. Orville and Wilbur Wright lived in Dayton and had a printing business as well as The Wright Cycle Shop there. Ohio's also where they perfected their airplane...Though Kitty Hawk, NC, got all the glory, the brothers did the gruntwork right here in Ohio. Wooo-hooo! ontario, ON(Zone 2a)

Hi Everyone. I'm from The Great White North!
Northwestern Ontario Canada. Long winters and
short summers.

Central, LA(Zone 8b)

Hi Ya'll,
I'm from Sportsman's Paradise as our state of Louisiana is called. I make the 4th one listed on this particular post. However, I am the fartherest one north so far. I live in central Louisiana in a little town of 232 population . Actually I live a mile outside of the town, therefore, do not qualify for a city girl. I agree with the others from our great state. The politics are crooked. Also, It's hot as Hadees and getting hotter all the time . The mosquitoes will carry you off if you don't tie yourself down. The weeds grow fast and furious here. We love to cook and love to eat our cooking . If you like the outdoors, then this is the place to be . I love this gardening site so much. I've only been a member for a week. Somehow, I got linked to MzMunchken's website from another site and she had a comment about spending a lot of her time in Daves Garden. The rest is history . Here I am and am I ever glad to be here. So, I guess thanks goes out to MzMunchkens for getting me here . Later gators,

West Simsbury, CT(Zone 5a)

Keep 'em coming! I'm loving it. Cheeseheads, gators, skeeters, ROFL! Kitty Hawk... where I spent all my summers as a child.

Chester, SC(Zone 7a)

South Carolina's here

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Namaskaara! (Equivalent of your "Hi" - said with folded hands in front of the chest). What am I doing here?! Only man from India! Half way round the earth. Living in Mysore in the state of Karnataka. 90 miles from Bangalore, known as garden city. (But now, gardens and greenery is replaced by concrete :<( esp in the last 25-30 years) Mysore also is becoming like that. Famous (internationally) for Sandal wood, Mysore-silk, Insence sticks, Mysore Dasara (festival), .....

Good to know where we live. Good thinking, Rosie. Someone may start "how we look". PEBBLE, my friend from India also lives in Vancouver, WA. I don't think he's interested in G'g. Thanx Dave for bringing us together.
