What is wrong with this plant? I just moved into a rental house and all the plants look diseased and/or unhealthy. Help!
What is wrong with this plant?
Could be wrong, but the plant looks like a real sick Hydrangia, if I were you, I would cut off all the brown stems down to a good green set of leaves, give the plant a good drink and a week later, add a liquide feed to the watering, it looks like the plants have all suffered from neglect with the lack of water as they should be growing well and showing off their beauty right now at this time of year, so go for water first as they look dried up and burned. good luck. WeeNel.
The leaves look like they have been burned by contact with weed-killer. Did your someone spray the weeds before you moved in? The shrub will most likely recover if you give it the treatment that WeeNel suggests.
Never gave a thought to contact weedkillers June, good thinking Bat Man EH, it really looks so similer to that or parched by the sun and no water. but did'nt the same person have the same prob with another few plants, so it could well be weedkiller, your right though, they do look like they would recover with a good bit of T.L.C. hope so, I just hate to see plants suffer from neglect (you should see me in a garden centre) OH noooooooo you dont, I go around fixing all the plants that have toppled over, been stood on or just need all the dead foliage removed, my husband gets real p---ed off with me, but I hate to see it especially as they just need some small amount of attention. hope the garden works out for the new owners, they will have their work cut out, but sure will be worth it as established plants make the backbone of any garden as far as I am concerned, happy gardening June. WeeNel.
