Can someone ID this plant?

Wessington Springs, SD

I have no idea what this plant is, if it is good or bad, or where it came from. Help!

It looks like a Tradescantia species. There are several species native to North America, and one related plant from Asia, Commelina, that has naturalized. Try posting on the Indiginous Plants forum for a definite ID.

Edited to add:
There are at least two native Commelinas also, Commelina virginica and C. erecta. The Asian interloper is Commelina communis.

I'm betting its the same kind of flower in my yard. It's called dayflower or commelina communis.

I agree, I think it's a Commelina rather than Tradescantia.
