In the pocket of big helenium money again. This is Helena Mix, I have seen a Helena Red Shades sold too - could be the same.

I didn't make up these names, this is Red/Gold Hybrids - mine is all gold and all 7' tall.

Wow - 7 feet! Staked?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

This is Moerheim Beauty, this has a mix of colors to it.

Some of the red ones will change/soften a bit over age. I'll post fuller shots later with final colors.

Victor - yesish - it's along the chain link fence and tied to it. They are fairly strong and just become a bit looser if left alone.

Do you get yours from an online source Al?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

The only one I ordered was Ruby Tuesday, although it's local now. They shoud be available local for you here and there. Do you have the Plantspotters line for sale in your area?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't know - I'll check. Do you usually plant in Spring?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Spring - yes. Although they will do fine whenever you plant them. Almost always some left at end of season sales at places.

Plantspotters has the serial # ed plants.

they did confuse me this year in why they have Big Sky echinacea when they have nothing to do with the development of them.

Loretta:

That Marco Polo is gorgeous. Love the purity of the color.

Al:

Perfect helenium! I love the mix of the colors. It's hard to believe they are 7 feet tall!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks, just the Red/Gold is - the rest are 3-4' tall.

Al, "Becky Lynn" or maybe "Dallas Star" although DS is more an orchid color than pink.

This is a duo of "Rocky's Eye" taken this morning.

Is Marco Polo hard to locate?? Hee hee.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Celeste - Becky Lynn would make sense. I moved a few and lost the tags.

Haven't posted photos for a few days. Having trouble with my photo management software. Uninstalled it and lost the lic # needed to reinstall it. Waiting for them to get back to me. Hopefully soon!

This is "Dallas Star" this morning.

Not a blossom yet - but BUDS! These are delphinium I winter-sowed; I never expected blooms this year. These are Pacific Giant Blue Bird. Don't you think they will look great with the red poppies?

How do we know that Celeste doesn't just have really huge fingers??

Incredible pictures everyone! It took me a long time to catch up.
My daugter (14) picked up the Harry Potter book at midnight Friday/ Saturday. By the endof Saturday she had devoured all 739 pages.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Speaking of HP ~ it arrived in yesterday's mail at about 3:30PM. My granddaughter read it through to the end. She finished it at 1:30AM. And yes, she WAS sitting out under the mailbox waiting for the mailman to show.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

WOW! Makes my daughter seem like a slacker! Isn't it great to see all the reading?
I'm only 2 chapters in because: couldn't compete with DW & DD for our 2 copies of the book, I finished "rereading" book 6 on CD before starting book 7, I'm a slow reader.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Your daughter is not a slacker.
GD, Sammi ahs finished the book. Next, my DD Anna (her mom) will read the book. Then it will be my turn. We are all really very good at not telling each other about the content.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Just joking. I LOVE my girl.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I knew you were joking. 8>)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have they kept the ending from you Dave? Aren't you on vacation?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

So far they have kept it from me and so far I'm on vacation (until Tues.). We were in and out of Grand Central the day before the steam pipe explosion. Didn't do too much this time. We will go to Maine in August.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My friend works at 41st and Lex. The plume was reaching his 14th floor office height. He evacuated. Where in Maine?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Ogunquit. This will make 4 times in 5 years.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Guess you like it. Where in Maine is that? What about it keeps bringing you back?
