Are there any AUSTRALIAN'S from Queensland in our members.

North Ipswich, Qld, Australia

Being a beginner, most people here are from the USA, no offence meant, but our tempretures are different from you guys. I don't know how to find out a "zone" for me. But where I live in winter (now) the temps are from 18 - 27 degree's. COLD at times.
I really enjoy ready all the forums, but most temp do not apply to me. :-(
Can anyone identify this plant for me?

Hi there Degarotty! Welcome to Dave's Garden. I can't help with identifying your plant, but I can point you to the Australian Gardening forum. Here's the link http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/oz/all/

Happy gardening!

Hi Degarotty,
I believe what you have is what I always refer to as a pencil tree. Check out this link.

Hi Degarotty, welcome, you have come to the right place, some Australians are regularly on the site, all different forums, depending on the subject matter, you dont have to have the same temps to know a plant, as like you say, a lot of the folks are from USA, but we here in Scotland UK, grow a lot of the same plants they grow and we have severe winters, we also grow a lot of the tender plants, thats tender to us, so we grow as indoor plants, so you will find plenty of informed folks here to help you out if you just give them the chance, there is such a wide variety of different temps in USA, different soil conditions and a lot of the same troubles, bugs and deseases that you will have also, we do live in a small world now from years ago and the folks on this site are from all areas and walks of life, so get the questions in and someone will sort out your queery, good luck, WeeNel.
