Any special cuke ferterlizer of home products to boost production? Also, leaves are white? To much moisture?

Hi Kathy,

I'm not sure about the white leaves. Several possibilities.

Maybe you could be a little more specific about the production problems. Do you have any cucumbers (fruit) at all, or just vines and blossoms?

vines, blooms and 3 or 4 small cukes - they are pickling cukes. They look like they have dusty white leaves.

Hmmm. Dusty white leaves--could be powdery mildew--a picture might help. Are your cukes getting plenty of water? Cukes are water hogs. Also, don't use nitrogen fertilizer on your cukes--like tomatoes, you will get a wonderful green jungle but very few cukes. I always amend my soil with lots of compost (homemade or composted cow manure works good) before I plant the seeds. You can side dress later with more if you think they need it.

It is powdery mildew! And, I water them on the ground, not leaves, they have tons of blooms, so maybe it's just a bit behind. What commercial fert. should I use?
