It was replaced with a tougher plant that's for sure - those Black Eyed Susans come up everywhere.
Here's a nicer plant - Keith H.
Whats blooming today? #4
Seandor - We just got a pop-up camper and we only have the weekends to camp so we are staying fairly close to home this year - Lake George area. This past weekend we went to Hearthstone right on Lake George. There are a lot of places for RV camping and regular campgrounds, both state and private, in this area. My older daughter wants to get used to towing the camper before going to far and we also take my grandson (youngest daughter's child) and we can send him home if he is miserable (with his parents of course). This area has lots of places to camp - Schroon Lake, Lake Luzerne (fourth Lake campsite in town of Lake Luzerne, Moreau Lake, several on Lake George (Hearthstone, Battlefield, Rogers rock), plus the RV campsites around Lake George and Queensbury area. If you're looking for a place to camp you can always look on-line.
Al - that phlox is fully open??? Could you get a closer zoom - I'd love to get a better look.
Pixie, Incredible as always! I particularly like Hoopla, Magic Lace & that rose. Watch out for deer. They looked like they were about to eat your mallow.
Harper, WOW! Good to have you back.
Al, Ilike your dahlia! Don't know that phlox but I have Unnatural Feelings.
Could you explain your puffballs?
Hi Anita! That looked like a great trip.
Hey Dave - yes it was. I want the greenhouse! I want to go back when the dahlia's are in bloom. I was surprised that they hadn't planted all the tubers? Some were still sitting out on top of the bed. Perhaps they don't have enough volunteers. Too bad they are too far away or I would consider it.
My puffballs you say - they are from my neighbors smoke tree - they really were blowing with the 95 degree wind here today.
Anita - will do
I don't think we've ever had a 95 degree wind! thanks for answering.
great great shots today... everyone
grammyphoeb - I spent every summer of my life in lake george & saratoga... I know glens falls pretty well.. love to take a drive up to paradise every year.... enjoy your camper!
Allison
Dave thanks for the nice welcome back. I don't have a Sea Holly. You must mean Celeste's. Speaking of Celeste, what another beautiful bunch of flowers! I love that slow opening rose.
Victor - maybe with your help, I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong with the coreopsis. I will move the shasta dasies near them. Got any other combo plant ideas? How about for lavender?
Eleanor - welcome home!
Anita - Oh, I'd love to go to Planting Fields!! It's on my list, just haven't made it yet. What am I waiting for?
I knew I had the wrong Hydrangea. You guys confirmed it for me. Thanks for the pic Al. I love the forget-me-not!
Harper, I didn't think you had sea holly. Must be Al that must have meant Celeste.
I need to see the transcripts, yes I have sea holly and wondered who posted theirs if it flops.
Don't feel bad Dave - it's not always your fault.
Ooops! Can we play "Who's Who"?
I don't mind being confused with Al. He is a better gardener not to mention photographer.(And he has natural feelings)
Oh, that's right and you have unnatural feelings. So, what kind of feelings are we talkin' here?
Of course Al has natural feelings! (for what?) Are you confused, Dave47 (apparently, you don't mind lol)
Harper! I was thinking the same thing - but I didn't have the nerve to send it in a post :-)
Al's phlox is "Natural Feelings" I don't know the name of mine but I've been told I have "Unnatural Feeings"
Just a joke. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
Oh! well now - things are starting to make sense!
Thanks for clearing that up, Dave47. Knew we could count on you :-)
Sounds like Dave's confused (and confusing) again. Must be an age related thing. Or are you not well again, Dave??
Harper, the main thing to remember about any combos with Lavender is that the 'partner' has to have similar cultural requirements - full sun and great drainage - drought tolerant plants.
Great pics, guys (and gals). I'm going to have to get to work with my camera and less with the garden tools!!!
I'll see what's cookin' out there tomorrow a.m.
Well, duh! I knew you were joking, ya goof. Besides, who's got a wandering mind about what unnatural feelings are? He he..
Harper
I'm raising my hand.
Al -- Must .... get .... razzmatazz! So far I have Sunrise, Sundown and lots of Magnus ...
Nice weeds
Hi Al -
great photos again, of course!! Although 'Lisa' doesn't look like a weed to me.
Nice thunderstorm, complete with pea-sized hail just went through. I must check my 'babies' for bruises.
Al, Feelings looks much pinker in this new photo. Actually, Sangria is another one that's not too bad at all. Pinks, purples and yellows are nice. It's reds in general, and certain oranges I don't really like.
Oh, Natural Feelings is a flower!!! I thought you guys had really gone over the edge!! LOL Eleanor
Eleanor, that already happened long ago!!
great shots today al.... sorry guys too hot for me to hang outside today
Me too.
You guys are too funny! Don't stop.
Yowza! Nice Al!
I made boo boo on it - but you get the point.
