The leaves on my pumpkins are dying close to the base of the vine. The new leaves look fine. Each vine is sending side shoots as well. Each vine set only one pumpkin (the subsequent ones rotted when they got to be about 3-4" in diameter), and they are now both orange. Are they ready for harvest? Same question for the spaghetti and sweet dumplings, how do I know when to harvest? They all meet the "visual" criteria for harvest, but it's so soon! Help! I don't want to waste them by letting them rot, _or_ harvest too soon. I'm starting to find many bugs (which I'm trying to identify), so maybe that's the problem with the leaves?
Any help appreciated,
Margo
pumpkin/squash leaves dying
I am not any help. I do not have squash and pumpkins much. I never had any to make much. They take up so much space that I stopped trying to raise them. Hope you have good luck with them.....gn
