will my peace lily die off this winter or will it come back. i live in florida around zone 9 bordering 10
peace lilies
I just read they don't like temps. below 60 degrees....so if it gets that cold or colder ever in your region, I bet it won't make it. But, up here peace lilies are used as house plants...so, you could always pot it up and bring it inside for the winter.

Should think your biggest prob will be keeping it cool and damp soil, these are semi shade plants and like a moist soil, so give it plent moisture but not sitting in water, give as much shade as pos without it being in the dark ofcourse, they are lovely plants, and like kls above, I have to grow mine indoors but can sit them outside in the summer, in too sunny a spot, the first sign you will see is the leaves go very pale and almost grey, these wont turn green again but if moved to shade, the new leaves will come and stay green, also for flowers give it a good feed, I give a liquide feed every 2 weeks in the summer and stop come the autumn, keep cutting off the spent flowers as they fade and more will come, the plants need a rest period to build up strength again, but in Florida, not sure if a rest period will happen, ask someone in the florist shops down your way as they will know better for your area. Hope this helps, good luck, WeeNel.
I haven't seen any growing here in AL, but there are lots of them growing outside year around in the Los Angeles area. They definitely will take temps quite a bit below 60 degrees. I'm not sure how much frost they will take, but the San Fernando Valley does routinely get several light frosts every winter and they do well there.
well my peace lily has become very large and im sure it will get below 60 in the winter and we may even get 30's but ill try covering it to see if it survives if not oh well next time ill keep it in a pot.
Sure is pretty
