I LAID SOME SOD BECAUSE I GOT SICK OF LOOKING AT THE GROUND- MY QUESTION IS SOME OF IT IS BROWN AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO
SOD
water it good every day...
Now was probably not the best time of year to do the sod, summer heat adds extra additional stress to a situation that's already pretty stressful for the grass. Threegardeners is right, sod needs TONS of water to help it get established, especially during the summer. But since it sounds like you maybe did it yourself, I'm wondering how you prepped the ground and laid the sod? You need to make sure the ground is leveled first, then when you put the sod down you need to make sure and press it down really well (I think the pros use a roller of some sort) so that the roots are in good contact with the soil underneath. If you don't do that, then all the water in the world won't save it. But if you prepped the ground and put the sod down correctly, chances are you're just not watering it enough. You might try watering a couple times during the day instead of just once, sod can dry out really quickly especially if your weather is hot.
