Just a little thanks :)

Ogden, UT

I just wanted to send a little thanks to all, it's so fun to read the threads. I have learned so much, and it's such a breath of fresh air to share my love for gardening with others.

I was continually getting discouraged due to my love of flowers and gardening not being recipocated by many of my friends and coworkers. I arrived at my silly name on this site, because one day a coworker said to me, "Aren't you just the little flower princess" in a condescending tone... Thats when I decided to refrain from sharing my hobby with others and found this website.

I was so excited a few weeks ago when I discovered a Robin built her nest for her babies in my lilacs. When I first moved into my home, I noticed one day I never saw any birds, lots of bees though. So I purchased some bird feeders, and not only do I have birds now, but the birds feel I have done a good job and chose my house for their little ones. Cute

My Jackmani Clematis I planted last year has nearly tripled in size, and is covered in blooms! Lilies are in bloom, hostas are filling in nicely, and japanese maple seems to be hanging in there! It's so rewarding to take a frumpy yard and create something beautiful.
Next on my to-do-list is a pondless water feature.
We spend so much time at work, its nice to have a little retreat waiting for us when you get home.

So thanks to all!

AH how nice you have joined the many gardeners that have and are in the presses of creating a perfect little oasis to relax in at the end of the day, as you have just discovered, you never finnish a garden, you just change it as you grow into it, it is one of my most relaxing times of the day, when I have my hands in the soil, watch things grow and step back and tell myself "I did that with a little help from nature" what better reward could you ask for, now you want to add a water feature, well good luck, as the sound of trickling water is another very relaxing thing, so go for it, while you get settled into that relaxation, get along to your librery and look out for some books to fill your mind with next years project and pictures of all the plants to enhance your area, and you will end up with a little piece of heaven right hear on earth. Good Luck to you and your new found oasis. WeeNel.

Welcome flowerprincess! You couldn't have picked a nicer community to join (of course, I'm just a tad prejudiced on this). May you have many more wonderful experiences here.
