Is it possible to grow malanga from a root that is available in the market?
GROWING MALANGA
Sadly, I have no idea what a malagna is. But, from what I've read on here, growing things from the supermarket might not work because they're always treated with some sort of anti-rooting/sprouting thing. However, if it was organic, you probably could...if one could grow malagna from a root.....I'll have to find out what malagna is now...I'm curious! :) Hope this helps a little...if nothing else, you could just give it a try!

If you are in extreme south Florida, it appears that you can. It is a tropical plant, so few of us here would have any experience with it. The University of Florida can give uou advice and propbably the folks in the tropical gardening forum. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/MV090
