I'm a newbie growing for the first time, and selected a plant named "Patio Pickle Cucumber" because I am using a container for the plant. This baby is really growing. thinking about having it run along the railing of my deck.
I have not been able to find any information on this particular cucumber. All adivce and information is welcome.
Patio Pickle Cucumber
Patio Pickle Plants of this productive hybrid cucumber are more compact and take less space, yet this semi-determinate vine yields like mad. Perfect for small growing spaces. Fruits are white spined, medium dark green, three inches long and one and one-half inches in diameter. T/R: anthracnose race 2, angular leaf spot, cucumber mosaic, downy & powdery mildew and scab. Matures 49 days after emergence. Several plants are needed to ensure adequate pollination. Developed by Petoseed.

I know they say that with cucumbers you have to sling the fruit so it doesn't pull the plant off the trellis, but these guys sound small so you may not have to. Probably just tie the vine securely to help it stay up. If the cucumbers do seem to way it down, you can make slings to support the fruit. Not quite sure how to do it, I don't have experience yet. I am trellising my cucumbers this year, so we'll see how it goes. Hope this helps a little.

Mostly used by container gardeners. hybrid around 50 day maturity.
thank you , thank you, very much Kristie. I have just begun to tie the vines up using old nylons and it does take on the appearance of slings (smile). I rather bunch the plant up, then have it run along the railings. Wanted to hear from others with opinions and the info helped alot.

Farmerdill, thanks for the links and info. Looks like I'm in the right place and asking the right questions to the right folks.
