I also think that it is a kerria japonica. The small rose like flowers and the green canes identify the plant. I have two of them that are about ten years old and are enormous. The plant has always flowered profusely from spring until fall before but we had a late freeze and they have produced few blooms. Is it possible to prune the kerria down to a reasonable size? If so,when is the best time to prune.
