look like the Merremia vitifolia...
This first sets of true leaves on this plant

look closer to an Ipomoea alba var.heterophylla than a Merremia dissecta...
let's see what develops...

looks like it could be Merremia umbellata...
This one here

looks like either Ipomoea hederacea,Ipomoea nil or possibly Ipomoea cordatotriloba
Great looking plants...

Joseph,
you are growing quite a variety also. It will be something when they start blooming.
Karen,
I love that color, .. it is one of my favorite colors. Very hard to capture that specific color with the camera.
It`s nice to see all the new babies this year. It will be fun to watch and see what develops.
That first flower is definitely purple and the magenta in the throat follows the folds in the flower so I suspect a ray pattern may be hiding in there? It seems impossible to capture the true depth of the colors here on this one. I plan on growing it again in mass to see the affect and to see if there are any interesting genes hiding in there.
Here is the light blue one with the fancy foilage. I thought it looked refreshing settled in the natural setting with the pink crape myrtles.
Nice vines you have going there, GiddyMoon!

is as I suspected either Ipomoea alba var.heterophylla or Ipomoea turbinata...the stubs growing out of the stems is much more commonly seen on Ipomoea turbinata, but I've seen them on certain strains of Ipomoea alba...interesting plant...if it's an I.alba >I'd be interested in a few seeds...

may have been labeled as 'tricolor' but the sepals are clearly those of Ipomoea purpurea...
The super excellent closeup of the Ipomoea purpurea sepals you posted here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/Gerris2_1182209631_81.jpg
belongs in the PlantFiles...

is either Ipomoea hederacea or Ipomoea nil...
I'm leaning towards Ipomoea hederacea but as the tips of the sepals develop along with the flowerbuds, flowers and seedpods >a more definitive IDentity can be rendered...
Great photos...(!)

Thanks for your great comments on these flowers, Ron, I really appreciate it. The Ipomoea purpurea marketed as I. tricolor 'Wetterleuchten' opened a little this morning but not fully before I had to go to work. The color is a nice lavender but the camera I am using doesn't seem to capture that hue. I will have to break out the film camera to get an accurate photo of that one. I will post the photo of what I took this morning later on today.
Joseph
...enjoying all the pictures! Thanks all!
Joseph, your Q0426 plants look great. Both of them are trilobed, so they qualify as parent plants for the system..meaning they can carry the feathered gene and the duplicate gene. They could also possibly bloom double...!
My Q0426 parent plants have always been very vigorous and have grown as big as the other medium sized flower JMGs. Last year mine quickly grew to the top of the 8 foot trellis and then doubled up and down again what seemed like a couple times!
Arlan
Nice plants and photos everyone..
Ronnie, that little one is so cute, I like it.
I haven't been able to be on here much, the darn wind has me hopping.. yesterday we had another storm and it kept me on my feet.
Joseph, great plants there.. I've yet to get any fragrant MGs.
Here is the flower of Ipomoea purpurea sold as 'Wetterleuchten' by Chilterns Seeds. It has a more blue than purple corolla and the darker markings really stand out in "real life". I like it, but it has a resemblence to I. purpurea with other cultivar names, doesn't it? I took some photos using my 35mm film camera to see if it will capture the true hue. I will post those images later this weekend.
Joseph
The Wetterleuchten is lovely, even if it is another look alike. I'm growing
the Midnight Velvet this yr because I haven't grown any of these for a while. Curious about the description Chiltern's gave
in their cat.
I love the light blue color of your unk JMG.
Jackie
Joseph, Love the blue one!!
