Shamrock?

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I am looking for a plant and I don't know the name of it, if anyone out there knows what I talking about PLEASE help me. Here goes This plant looks like a very small oxalis of shamrock plant, the clover like leaves are smaller than a oxalis and they are all green not any maroon on them, they have small pink and sometimes white florwers that bloom all summer in the south. They grow in big round klump that are about 12" tall 12" wide. A lot of homes have them growing around their trees like a border. They seem to do well in the shade of trees. They are probably a form of oxalis but when I try to buy some all I get is the big shamrock that is long and lanky and does not do well in the shade.
Thanks

this may be an extremely stupid guess...but could you be looking for some sort of heuchera/coral bell?

If not, I think they're a good choice for the shade garden if you can't find what you're looking for. They seem to come in tons of foliage colors and bloom colors.....hope this helps a little

Do the flowers also look like Oxalis, or is it just the leaves that look like it? Polygonum capitatum has similar leaves but the flowers are little round ball shaped ones, not at all like Oxalis. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/363/index.html
If the flowers and leaves both look like Oxalis, then it most like is Oxalis, there are a million different ones so it may be hard to tell you which one it is without seeing a picture.

The majority of the commonly available Oxalis species will be happy in shade (and would probably fry in the sun in your climate), so I'm surprised you had trouble with yours, maybe the problem is you didn't water it enough--especially if it's under a tree, the tree will take a lot of the water so you'll have to water the plant more often.

Thanks everybody I found the plant. Its name is Oxalis crassipes. I also found a place to buy it at lazy ss farms.
