Urgent Help Finding Garden Planter

South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could help me, sadly my nana passed away recently
and due to her love of swans me and my family would like to have her
ashes put into an outdoor swan planter with a rosebush.

I have searched all over the internet and have emailed a few companies
but i cant seem to find anything suitable. All we would like is a planter
that is the shape of a swan or a planter of any shape with swans
engraved on it.

I would be very grateful if anyone knows of any companies that make
anything like this or anywhere else they may available. It doesnt matter
where it comes from as long as it can be shipped to UK.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hi Phoenix,

Sorry about your loss. Swan planters are very common here in Chicago. I did a Google search and found quite a few sources for these planters. However, I don't know if they ship to the UK. Here is a link to one: http://www.nextag.com/swan-planter/search-html
You also might try ebay.

Hope this information helps. Sharon

Hi Phoenix,
I'm so sorry to hear of your Nana's passing. My condolences to you and your family.

I'm not sure how big of a planter you'd like since you are thinking of putting a Rose into it. I'm not big into Roses, but I've heard that they sometimes do not do well in containers. I may be completely wrong here...and everyone please correct me if I am!! =^) Maybe you could plant the Rosebush and then put the swan planter in front/in the same area but plant it with another of her favorite flowers or something that would look great w/ the Rose. Just an idea.

For planters, I'm going to include some links to what I've found by search Google for "swan planter uk".

they call it a swan, looks like a duck to me

That should be enough to get you started. I can look up some more if you need them. Do you know what type of material you'd like the planter to be made of...resin/plastic, concrete/cement, metal/iron, etc.? I'm sure you haven't even thought about all that yet. That may make the search a bit easier, and remember your choice will determine the price and how long the planter may last. There's nothing wrong with getting a smaller more inexpensive planter now and saving up for a larger one, lots of folks do that kind of thing in this type of situation (myself included).

All the best, let me know if I can help more,
Heather

This is a Canadian website. If you are willing to pay shipping, I could go to Canadian tire,(5mins from my house) and get the first swan planter if it is in stock and mail it to you. If you are interested, Click on my name and email me and we can exchange info, addresses etc.

Hi Phoenix, dont know if this is any good to you but I live in Uk and last year was looking for garden furniture, came across a company called Cannock Gates, ????? you find the adds in the sunday news papers etc, have a picture of wooden gates, the same comp had another add I think was called the garden shop, so do a search on net and see if you can find it, they deffinately had lots of containers in lead, concrete, etc, one was deffinately swans, 2 sizes and send by post, hope your lucky, By the way, not too sure about the spelling of Cannock. Good Luck, thinking about you and the family at this really sad time. WeeNel.

Phoenix,
So sorry about your loss--prayers for you and your family. I think if you get one of the larger swan planters, there's no reason a minature rose couldn't thrive quite nicely in it. They come in lots of colors and I believe I've seen them in some of the online catalogs. Coincidence on that user name--same one my son uses only without the numbers on the end :-)
