Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I have the ultimate one for YOU .
It's on the other Puter so I will have to go find it .

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

I sure wish I had a picture to show you of a mailbox I used to often drive past when I lived in Pennsylvania. When I first saw it, the box was painted with tabby-cat stripes, the hatch was shaped and painted like the cat's face, and the flag-lever was its tail. When it came time for re-painting, the box metamorphosed from a cat into a raccoon.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Sounds like a really cool mailbox!!

Ginger, still waiting....

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I have been saving this for Ron , later on .
But with the obvious interest I will show it now .
Can yall tell what it is ?
It is 6 ft. tall .

So who am I to argue with that ?

Not sure about the spread of the legs though .

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

I guess people around here have no Imagination. I would probably run into one of those gawking while driving.
That is probably another reason. The school bus flattened our mailbox turning around last winter, then the plow truck backed into it a week later.
Hate to see one of these cool ones get flattened.
P.S. the last one would get trash picked for sure.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

lol cpartschick .
Their milk is delivered in that MO .
Keeps ants and flyes & Dingoes away from it .

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Milk delivery.....way back....in my memory....I remember the milkman coming to the door and placing milk bottles in a tin insulated box. That had to be almost 50 years ago. I was way little.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

50 years ago in US ?
But still happens here . lol
Just no more glass . All Paper cartons now .

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

We use plastic for milk cartons now. But alot of companies are going back to glass because they taste better, are reuseable, and the milk doesn't spoil as fast.

I like that last mailbox. lol. But I would have the same problem as chick. Maillady turns around in our driveway and the trashmen would probably think it's trash. If they weren't sure they would probably come up to the house and ask about it. lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

LOL Pep .
This one is bolted down .
No one will take it .

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

They will here. My town is not known for people leaving things alone. If they want it they will take it.

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Oh, I don't think the trash guys would take it, but the trash pickers would. The neighborhood here throws out some good stuff, as in many areas, where people are buyers and don't have room for all their new stuff, so out goes the old. (it is a shame). There is so much waste.

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

In towns and cities, the trash pickers are a boon. No need to take the old stove/washer/drier to the dump, or pay for it to be hauled away, just leave it at the bottom of the driveway and it is gone the next day. However, in the countryside there are no trash pickers, and although we have an official dump site, a few folks find it more convenient to tip their unwanted stuff into ditches or ravines. As the owner of a ravine bordering on a back road, I am the recipient of unmarked, sealed metal drums; old tires; broken bottles; oil cans; garbage bags; appliances; you name it. If only I could make something attractive or useful out of all this rubbish, I would make a fortune.

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

I live in a very rural area, but we have trash pickup. Even with this, some state land is dumped on. We used to walk on state land and it was horrible the amount of trash dumped there. I can not understand why, when the whole area around has pick-up.
The only problem we see here is people throwing stuff in the river. What pigs. Sometimes things get washed in due to high water.
Poor dog, we are always throwing crap in the canoe on him and disposing of it.
Last week it was a dust buster hand held vacuum and some really nice copper tubing.
I saved the tubing, as it was pretty and I can make art or something out of it for the garden.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Do yall have these things your way ?
They are a regular street feature here .

Thumbnail by ginger749
Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Not around here. Great for the city though.
Our doggy prefers the woods, backs up to a big fern or bush and pretends he is hiding.
Never has gone in our yard, but when visiting friends and such he will leave presents in their bushes or on large ornamental rocks. (big dog, big presents)
