I'm looking forward to it! Thank you Kassia for generously hosting us and for inviting me. :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Kassia, I would LOVE to come, but alas I can not leave DH right now and he can't travel. Hopefully we can meet another time, but I am soooooo bumming right now!!! This is the second time this year that I have had a chance to met some DG's and can't. Please take lots of pictures so those of us who can't go can see what we missed!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Pixie - we can all meet in the Fall :-)

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I can't wait!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I appoint Kassia our social director!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Does that mean she's like Julie, our Cruise Director? Can we play shuffleboard?

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I think you are right, Dave47. Maybe Kassia's alter ego is Julie

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Wow! Blast from the past!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I used to watch that show when I was a kid. All the guests were washed up actors and actresses however - I hope there's no significance to that!

I think it's Kassia's job to do the appointing - she's the one hosting!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

lol!!!! well, my pleasure... but I don't remember much of that show...

I told my family today and they are all very excited... even my geeky nephew and friend Mike will be here... they can't believe a computer geek can also be a gardener... they don't believe Dave is one... so maybe if they see Dave and talk to him I may get some free help after that.... well, I believe in miracles!!!!

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

WOW! Marlboro to Framingham? Kassia, I'd have to have a map and some snacks for that trip. It would take.....10 minutes. Ya, I could do that. When it comes time let me know, being that close I'm sure I could help out.
Chuck

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You can walk with your dog Chuck! Are you the Marlboro Man??

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

No I can't claim that honor. In my house when my wife calls, "Hey You." Both me and the dog go out to see who she wants.
As a matter of fact when we got married my wife said to me, "If I want your opinion, I tell you what it is."
Yes sir, I know my place.
Chuck

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Kassia, I would love to come, but my dearest friends are coming to Nantucket for the first time in years that weekend. Enjoy the gathering and take lots of pictures for us "no shows" Make sure that you give everyone the direction to Garden in the Woods while they are so close. I love that place. I could have also hit the fabulous fabric store in Framingham where I have done my house from. Again I am having to regret the pleasure of meeting The Dave and all the other NE gardeners at your home and garden. Patti

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

I seem to be missing the date of this shindig. When is it and where are you meeting?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

dogwalker.....the title of this thread should give ya the date and it's at Kassia house.

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

DAH! Thats why I don't let my mind wander..... ITS TOO LITTLE TO GO OUT BY ITSELF.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL...I hear ya, have those days myself!

Oviedo, FL(Zone 9b)

Sorry you can't make it.
Martha

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Chuck, you're cracking me up!!!! Thanks for that morning giggle.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh pixie... your poor husband... maybe in the fall? we will have another one so we can meet everyone...

Patti... bring your friend over!!!! I will give people directions to Garden in the woods... I don't live so far from there...

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I am on Nantucket, and they are coming just to be here and catch up with old Island friends (one of them lived here for quite a few years) so they won't budge once they get here until they leave on the 26th. But they are gardeners, so I am still tempted. We are having a big gathering of all their old friends on Saturday, so I hope my garden is in good form. Patti

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

ok... next time then!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Chuck, I hear you on the wife / master thing. That explains the wandering mind too. They kill you slowly and you don't even realize it. After the mind is shot, the spirit is next.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Muah, ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh... Victor, some cheese to go with that whining!!!?????

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

he he he he!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - mushy cheese is what we become. The phrase 'not with a bang but a whimper' was not written by Eliot to describe the end of the world, as is commonly believed. He was describing his change from bachelor to condemned.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Ouch! I'm glad I'm not your wife.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Am so looking forward to this gathering and hope it is a good day.
I will probably bake some cookies, easy to travel with and even easier to eat. Don't think I will have a plant to bring since I have devided the ones needed and do not think it a good idea to dig one of them up again, they do not look so hot at this point to beginn with, perhaps I will look some more and find somthing.
Maria

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

This is getting exciting! It will be fun to connect people to screen names.

I don't have plants to bring either. Maybe in the fall that will be easier. Would meeting around Lougees Nursery in northeastern CT be a good idea for a future RU? We could browse/shop and find a restaurant.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think CT might be more central for most people. MA is far for the NY (and NJ?) people.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Be thankful your not driving to Maine! Mile and miles of.........TREES.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

NYers consider ME part of Canada.

Finger Lakes, NY(Zone 6a)

Maine...one of the most beautiful states to drive through, to, and around. I have loved every trip there...the water is always a little chilly for me, but what gorgeous scenery.

Rose

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Maine has real campsites - not like the grass parking lot we stayed at in NY.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Guess you never heard of that puny patch of green called the Adirondacks!! I wasn't saying anything negative about ME - I happen to have loved my time there. It's just real far.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

rsquared, a little chilly??? The lakes aren't bad in the summer, but the ocean and the streams that come out of the mountains NEVER warm up! I have to be hot, really hot to get into the ocean. It doesn't take long for me to cool down once my foot gets wet and then I have to talk myself into getting in the rest of the way.

Part of Canada? Is that because there are so many Frenchman in Maine? or just cause we're so far North????
I have a hard time with most States I visit.....how can you be comfortable when you can see inside your neighbors house from your yard? Or if you sneeze, your neighbor says "Bless you" cause they heard it. I can not grasp living that close to anyone! My neighbor comes out, I wave, she won't be able to hear most of what I say if I were to talk to her. It would be a yelling match to have a conversation......we usually just meet half way between her house and mine on the lawn. So I deal with the miles and miles of trees to be able to have land to sneeze on and no one can hear me sneeze!
And when I visit other states, I come home and appreciate my little piece of heaven even more. Now if I could just afford all the plants I want to fill this acreage!
