June flowers Are Busting Out All Over - page 2

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

The clematis are definitely addictive Victor. I'm hoping I can hold back next year, at least 'till I know what space I have left. I want to plant some other vines. Now that I think of it, I bet some clematis would look great on my forsythia....

Change of subject... my Kousa Dogwood has a low branch that is drooping since the storm last week and hasn't picked itself up like it usually does... think I should cut it off? The branch is on the lower left.

That branch is coming off at a weird angle anyway so I think it might have to come off eventually anyway. I prefer single trunks when possible. That's really a judgment call. I would remove it. It doesn't represent too high a percentage of the total growth so it's probably okay from that point of view. You might want to try the experts on Trees & Shrubs though.

Okay, I'll try it in Trees and Shrubs.

What beautiful colors you have there Victor. My hydrangeas are nowhere near that far along in their blooming process.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Celeste and Harper. Here's the Fretwell Clematis again.

Beautiful flowers. Love the arbor, Victor - do you have a photo showing the whole arbor. The honeysuckle on it in bloom is nice!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Nice flowers!
Pixie, I have the same rugosa and spiderwort.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Yeah, except he's not a rastafarian, mon! He's my favorite flower. (Shhhhh! Don't tell him I said that!)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

great pics everyone. Victor I'm jealous that your hydrangea are in bloom already - mine have buds though.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That one is just starting. It's the first one of the year.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Nice pictures Al. I work in Madison. Should have stopped in!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Do ya? I was stopped out though to tell the truth.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Well, I guess it's a different Madison. I think that is the most common city/town name in the states.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Probably - Dolly Madison had quite a subtle influence on our country.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

James loved her cupcakes.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

and her ho ho's?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh she invited friends??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

He loved her theme park: Dollywood

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Loved her llama too.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I thought Dollywood was Dolly Parton's themepark, not Dolly Madison's...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

And the Dolly Llama?

Harper, It's Victor and me. Sometimes we're not serious. ;>)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I still have a thing for Little Debbie.

Dave - will you get serious ;)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I hear she's a real snack! ;0

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Al, that's dangerous talk! The FBI may be knocking on your door.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Sorry Dave! Sometimes I'm slow to get the joke...

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Harper, that's because the jokes are so baaaaaad.
