No offers, just postage

Does it irk anyone else when some one just asks for things in exchange for postage/sasbe and lets that be known in their requests? Never offering a trade in return. I just saw something is all...

Well, usually if I have extra, I post it for SASBE, but to have someone contact me and ask for something, sometimes it does irritate me. However, most people are just wanting to get their gardens started, and if I have it will gladly share.

I've done the sase thing too. And when people are just starting, I don't mind. But I meant when that person was around for a long time and only asked for hand outs when they've probably amassed a fortune in plants.

Sorry... It just ticks me off.

What takes gall is when they don't even say "Thanks" let alone offer to pay for postage. I usally ask for postage and an extra dollar or two to cover materials. Forget about gas and time. Now to run to the post office and back can be costly so I may have to up the ante an extra 3 dollars for the gallon of gas. I should adopt eBay's way of doing business - when I get the money for shipping and handling, then I ship the free plants.

That just might work. Let them know how much the postage is, they send it, then send the plants. Since gas and postage both went up, it is indeed a costly undertaking.

I've been charging around $6 ($5 for priority postage and $1 for materials). I think it will be $10 from now on and maybe I will just break even.
