Heuchera "Amber Waves"

Poland, ME

Are there any other Heuchera Nuts out there besides me? I have been searching for a source for the new Terra Nova variety called "Amber Waves." Has any one seen it for sale?

Any other varieties on your "want" list?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, I suppose the adage "better late than never" applies here. After collecting info on 200+ Heuchera cultivars for the PDB, I've found several "gotta haves" among them.

I've even got the bed all ready; but I'm thinking it might be best to wait until fall to order and plant them?

Here are the ones I think I want, based on their names:

Amethyst Mist (a birthstone thing, plus it's pretty cool looking);
Cappuccino (they didn't have one named Coffee, so I guess this is the next best thing);
Mini Mouse (too cute!);
Monet (my all-time favorite artist);
Rachel (great-sounding plant AND it's my neice's name);
The 'Eden' series (my mom might even be interested in some of those); and
Silver Mittens (another name just too cute to pass up)

So who'll be next? (Need some ideas? Check out the PDB, and search for Heuchera to see what I mean...)

And if you, too catch the Heuchera bug, I kept coming across Eminence Meadows, Rice Creek Gardens, Roslyn and Primrose Path as U.S. mailorder nurseries with a special interest in Heucheras :)

It is a prety cool looking plant I am sure that I will get one in the very near future. I saw it a couple times on e-bay and I also know that these 2 websites sell it:

I am growing the Palace Purple
and sioux falls for the first
time. They seem to be doing
really good,i'm growing mine
from seed. I like the look,
does anyone have these?

Oh, wow - I didn't know there were so many varieties! We have H. 'Palace Purple' and H. 'Bressingham Hybrid', which I bought as seedlings in 2001. They're doing great this year and I love them. I need to look up some of these other varieties now. :) **drool**

Kim, I'm drooling with ya :) I've raised a few Heuchera over the years; some named seedlings, most unnamed. I had NO idea there were all these cool-sounding cultivars out there! (I was definitely like a kid in a candy store the day I went surfing the 'net for Heuchera cultivars, LOL.)

I have a hundred heucheras or more. I love them. I also have Amber Waves, bought a gallon size(small gallon) for $6 at a local nursery. I think I've ordered this one for the nursery in the fall. It looks great with some sun coleus and the new sweet potato vine that's bronze.

I wanted to grow epimediums in the worst way but I found out they don't like Florida so I've decided to become the Heuchera Queen instead! LOL I have four varieties and am raising them in pots. They are doing very well. I got Amber Waves from Plant Delights and it's very pretty. Wayside Gardens also had some nice ones. I am definitely going to check out some of the links that were in this thread!

I'm waiting to buy a new one produced by Monrovia called "Crimson Curls." Guess it is incredibly pretty - sort of like an undated and more crimson version of Chocolate Ruffles.

Calla...where do you order your plants?

My golden wave heuchera is all of a sudden not so great...its leaves are almost brittle or dry...what do you think could be the matter?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Nutrient imbalance, mites, thrips.
Dale, I order some from a broker, Yoder Brothers, and get some from local nurseries. I've bought a few from Agri Starts in Florida.
