It looks like a Snapdragon to me. Did you plant any seeds?

YES! That is definitely a snapdragon. If you pinch the sides of the flower, the mouth will open. We used to play with them when we were kids. They are supposed to stand erect, not lie down. They would reseed themselves from last year if they were planted previously.

After your snapdragon boooms, cut it back and it will rebloom. YOu might want to use a small stake or sometimes I cut them back so they will stand up. I love snapdragons. There are small ones that only get about 12" and others that get quite tall. One tall one is the "Rocket" species.

All the snapdragons I ever saw laid down like that. I have seen advertised a variety that is supposed to stand up, rather than flop over.

Is a Snapdragon a perrenial? They were here last summer when I moved in, and I haven't planted any seeds or anything. I looked up Snapdragon and it was listed as an annual?
I thought annuals died and didn't come back?
Thanks

They reseed themselves...so its not the original flower from last year....
