I have finally managed to keep the birds and squirrels away from some of my strawberries, and now the ones that have managed to "grow-up" have holes in them. Any thoughts on the culprit and prevention? Thanks!
Holes in my strawberries
Maybe slugs? There are probably other things it could be too, but when I was growing up we always grew strawberries and the slugs were the biggest problem.
I don't think it is slugs. These are in planters on my second story porch, and I have not seen any other slug stigmata. Good idea, though. I'm thinking it is some kind of insect.
pill bugs (rolly poly) maybe. They are one of the reasons I quit growing strawberries.
Good idea--thanks. I'll look around for them.
