Disguised pots

North Augusta, ON

I need to put a bunch of things in hanging pots, yet I only have the icky white ones. Lets see pictures of how you all disguise your hanging pots please!!!!

Thank goodness, another person who finds white pots icky! I hid mine inside wooden flower boxes last year instead of hanging them up.

Paint them charcoal or some neutral color you like - it will last a couple of seasons. You can get a can of cheap spray paint at K Mart, Big Lots, etc.

I wish I could, but I'm to the point where I have to use them, have a dozen or so in the garage....and things to put in them.......they're ok for a mature plant with enough foliage to hide the white, but I have a bunch of babies to go in them. Need ideas on how to hide the pot. There has to be some creative ideas out there somewhere.....

lol, just goes to show you. One person HATES white pots and another LOVES white pots. Every single pot in my patio is clay, painted a creamy white to match our house trim.

this is just but a few

Climate for me is a factor. Here plant roots will sizzle in black or dark green pots in the heat of summer. Clay colored plastic or white will make life more tolerable for the plants and not using clay makes like more tolerable for me. I love them but would spend all my waking hours watering clay pots.

Get the moss ones - they are so much nicer. Natural looking and you can plant the sides and bottom if you want.

three....i just fill them and put them behind other pots...there was another thread where someone was using trashcans and painting them....so take the white pot you own and set it in a painted trash can .....i also take the white pots and set them down into baskets i got at garage sales, thrift stores and the like; i have an old old old ice cream churn thing that someone painted a gawd awful green but is a lovely french green and i set a white pot down in it....i will get some photos so you can see

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Hot glue spagnum moss all over the outside of the pots after roughing them up s bit with coarse sand paper. That should make them look more like the moss lined baskets.

or

Check the thrift stores for baskets large enough to cover them and wire them in place.

1 here is a basket i got for 50 cents at a garage sale...it has the white plastic pot inside of
it not hiding too well....but i wasn't concentrating real hard on hiding it....i coulda added moss j
to the top if i REALLY wanted to disguse it
