I just moved some creeping gardinias that weren't thriving. They were originally planted too close to a big old tree and couldn't get any nutrients. My landscaper pulled them out for me and told me where to plant them, so I'm assuming this was all done correctly. The problem is that many of the leaves are turning yellow - everything looks perky and healthy otherwise and there's even new growth. Am I overwatering?
Creeping Gardinia's w/Yellow Leaves
A picture would help if you can post one. It wouldn't hurt to check whether you're watering too much--stick your finger down a couple inches into the soil before the next time you water and see if it still feels wet, if it does then you should probably hold off on watering, but if it feels dry then definitely give it some water, it's important not to let a newly transplanted plant dry out. More than likely it's transplant shock, especially if they're planted where they get some sun and your weather has been warm it can be a little tough on plants. Most times when you transplant something, you'll lose some of the roots when you dig it up, and that means the plant's going to be under a little stress after the move until it has a chance to re-establish its roots.
