tree nematodes?

I have a chinese elm tree that has had a large lower branch cut out (before I moved here). For the past two years, we've noticed that it's weeping sap from it and never seems to heal over. I just took a close look at it and for the first time saw at least 5 nematode looking tiny worms slithering about in the smooth area where the branch was cut. above them there was a tiny hole that I noticed little bubbles of liquid spitting out (which is causing the wet, weeping that we noticed). Any idea what these are or what I should do about them? The tree is fairly healthy - there have been small dead branches, but nothing out of the ordinary. I can't find any other areas that look wierd, and I could not find any odd insects other than the worms!

Mosc... You might ask your problem over in the tree and shrub forum. Those folks are some real experts on trees and there problems and they might not se e your question over here.
