Tropical landscape for a patio!

I just had a patio out of concrete poured and am getting a tiki bar built. I need some ideas on what types of plants and/or flowers to plant around the patio, apart from the normal palm trees ofcourse. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you

It would help to know where you are located, and what kind of climate you have. Hard to recommend plants without having at least a clue as to what will grow for you.

I like Islandshari would need to know more about your climate etc, I assume if you have mentioned palms, then you dont get a lot of snow or heavy frosts, but there a loads of plants you can use, just need to know sun or shade, then you will get us all going.
