I planted this in June 2005. Never had any problems, it's always done well until now.
It came up about a month ago, but now it seems to be shrinking back while my other bellflowers are spreading out (all planted last spring).
I realized today that it may need to be divided (it grew last year in a donut shape - nothing in the middle). When I checked a gardening book I have, it says I can't divide until August or September. I'm worried that if I wait that long, the plant may be completely dead.
Do I really need to wait until fall or could I get away with dividing it now?
