I found a fertilizer "recipe" that included urea and epsom salts. What is urea and where do I find it? Is the epsom salt the same as what you would buy at a pharmacy?
What is urea?
Urea, a white crystalline solid containing 46% nitrogen, is widely used in the agricultural industry as an fertilizer. Urea is produced commercially from two raw materials, ammonia and carbon dioxide.
you can buy it from :

CO(NH2)2Is the nitrite containing by product of protein metabolism in animals. The main nitrogen bearing substance in urine. While it has always been utilized as fertilizer, today it is synthesized and has become a top nitrogen fertilizer. Best natural source is bird manure like chicken. Available at any store that sells fertilizer

Yes it is magnesium sulphate. That sold in pharmacies is the purest grade and more espensive than the technical grade sold for other purposes. Unless your soil tests low for magnesium tho, you would not need it.
