yer right i looked it up- it's an asiatic lily- very pretty flower- now i got glads & bach. buttons, morning glory, & ya name it i planted it - that was the 1st to bloom, but i'm most proud of my glads ( my grandmother's fave flower), my jalapeno/strawberry crossbreed- don't ask. my habanera peppers, and birdhouse gourds.. i also have awesome 4yr old plumeria trees(not here in kentucky- they live w/ mom in south texas coast) but i may pot & transplant here,,,,,ya may really like my "hot pepper strawberries"

Sounds lovely, I love glads! You should send more pictures as it developes! Please :)

I want to know more about the hot pepper strawberries (despite being told not to ask!)
:)

Glasgow, KY(Zone 6a)

i planted strawberries & jalapenos in the same planter box and the strawberries are spicy... go figger

Gregory, MI

Huh - sounds mighty interesting. They taste good then? (but not for shortcake, I'll warrent!)
Kinda makes me want to try it - to see if I can replicate your results!

Glasgow, KY(Zone 6a)

maybe i'm dr. frankengardner but really the strawberries will actually burn your tongue- i'm from texas so i know spicy mango salsa- it's kinda like that... i don't know if i could do it again twice. if i could do it on purpose i'd prolly be rich ( so said bill gates to the man he ripped of for the ms copyright

Hmmmmm, don't much care for strawberrys cuz they look sweet, but I always get the bitter ones. Maybe if they were "spicy" instead they'd be right up my alley. I may give your idea a try. Where should I send your royalties????

Gregory, MI

I think you should propegate the results - whether there is much of a market for jalapeno strawberries is a different story - but its certainly something that one would want to grow as a curiosity!

Like Mango salsa - hmmm - spicy strawberry salsa maybe? Its the new summer barbeque appetizer!! What could you serve them with though?

Glasgow, KY(Zone 6a)
