Cottonseed meal

Hope some one can tell me if this is good for flowers & vegetables.

i think its just organic nitrogen.

As Len mentioned, it is an excellent source of nitrogen. It also has some type of ability to acidify the soil so it is generally used on plants like azaleas and other acid lovers.

Cotton seed hulls are said to be good for making compost or mulch.

Thanks to you both. so I guess I shouldn't use too much on anything.
I have used alfalfa on all my plants for several years. I mix 1 big hand full in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Let it sit overnight. The plants seem to love that. smells bad but works.
The guy was out of alfalfa and said the cottonseed meal would be good too. Now I really don't know what to do with it.

use it all, it's organic and won't burn your plants, and since nitrogen is the most depleted nutrient, it will give your plants what they need for good foilage.

Just be cautious around your summer flowering plants. A little will go a long way there because nitrogen will push green growth at the expense of flowers.

If you have rhodies or azaleas or other plants that are all green in the summer dish it out.

Well good. I'll use it. Thanks.
