I need to move some daffodils from their present location to a new bed. They have just completed their bloom-time. Will they survive if I loosely tie the tops together (after removing the spent bloom stems) and dig up the entire clump, being careful to leave soil on the bulbs. I will immediately transfer them to their new home.
The reason I need to move these is due to construction.
Thanks,
hoer
Daffodil question ...
Hoer, your plan sounds good. Keeping the soil on the roots will allow them to continue growing. If you tie the leaves up it will make the transplanting easier. Untying the leaves after replanting will allow the bulbs better growth.
I'll give it a go.
They sure are beautiful this year.
Thank you.
