my garden pathway

San Benito, TX(Zone 9b)

This was my project last year and I am continuing my garden into the "back 40" this year. I am planning on putting in a small waterfall this week end I hope. We have very, very limited space in our RV resort so the neighbors allow me to encroach without too much complaint. I tell DH we live in a shoe box with a roof on it and stitting on a postage stamp, but the resort takes care of all the lawn, pool and hot tub so it is worth it. Love to see pictures of other DG patio projects. I saw a posting on here of a beautiful squash plant in a container and it truly inspired me. DH can't wait for the Zuchini bread. LOL

Beautiful!

That is very similiar to what I want to do to our back as well. I have yellow and zuchinni growing in a half barrel like the one you have in your pic...I have 4 zucs starting since yesterday, they seem to be doing great so far.

I think your walkway is very charming....

Thank you Giddy Moon, I enjoy my little space.
I hope you share pictures of your sucs as they grow.

Forgot to say, I have great neighbors, they don't get to enjoy this side of their trailer so they let me have full reign since they are only here part of the year. Love it!!

I will do that!

I went out just now and one lil bugger grew 2" in two days...scary! LOL

Which side is your side?

San Benito, TX(Zone 9b)

My side is the right hand side but I plant and maintain both sides, front and back. I am now going to plant the neighbor across the street. She is such a sweetie and a widow but she swears she can't grow a thing. I have planted her geraniums so far and they are doing very well. She is so excited.

Tell me how you did your pathway.

That is very much what I want to do to our backyard. The grass is useless and I like the weathered, rustic, simple, rocky look...I really like what you have done.

Very inspiring, thanks for the pic.

Looks really nice, bet your neighbors really appreciate and enjoy your hard work and you benefit too. I call that borrowed landscape. I have a neighbor that never uses his property, we have with permission used parts of it for years. Last year we planted a row of small trees down the one side to block the view and give a little more privacy. I have also cleaned and cared for the hedgerow next to but not on our property. With a little extra work and just a small investment we have greatly improved and expanded our view. Good luck with your neighborhood beautification. project.

I love the rustic rock! So natural looking. What's between them? I made a pathway out of the WM 12" squares. Mine looks square too but its better than walking through wet grass when it rains. Your pathway is charming.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I love my neighborhood and my neighbors.
Giddymoon,I took all the soil down several inches, used metal edging all around, very fine sand gravel, placed the stone then more sand gravel and watered good. I have to add sand once in a while after a good hard storm but very low maintenance. I did put in my waterfall ( from Lowes ) and have been enjoying almost every night after work. Fast landscaping. LOL
