Im searching for an early blooming (May+) perennial to plant in front of my butterfly bush (black knight) in a border. Something that may have a little foliage interest when the b.b. starts to flower. I would prefer something compact and mounded, because it is in front of the border.
Thanks!
Any suggestions?
I don't know which zone you're in, I'm in a zone 6b and would consider primrose for the application you described. Primrose has a lot of varieties to choose from. Check to make sure it works in your zone.
